Jeff Bezos to step down as Amazon CEO after 26 years

The second World's richest man Jeff Bezos the CEO of Amazon has announced he will step down and hand over the seat to Andy Jassy this year

Jeff made this announcement on the 2nd of January which came along with the companies fourth-quater earning report 

Amazon was found 1994 and has  transformed from a online bookseller to a multi billion dollar global retail and logistic company specialized in selling electronics, software, video games, apparel, furniture, toys, food and jewelries

Jeff Bezos has been the Chief Executive Officer of Amazon.com, Inc since its inception in 1994.

His supposed successor has a reputable and standing profile with the company, were she has given 24-years of service to the e-commence heavyweight 

Jeff Bezos said in a letter to his employees on Tuesday 2nd Feb. 2021 that he is excited to take the next step as been the CEO of the company is consuming and a deep responsibility but stressed that he will be actively engaged in all important Amazon initiatives.   

“He wrote:

“When you have a responsibility like that, it’s hard to put attention on anything else. As Exec Chair I will stay engaged in important Amazon initiatives but also have the time and energy I need to focus on the Day 1 Fund, the Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, The Washington Post, and my other passions. I’ve never had more energy, and this isn’t about retiring. I’m super passionate about the impact I think these organizations can have.”

Amazon is worth at least $1.7trillion currently and the stock was turned over by 69% in the past year and still counting.
