How to lodge a complaint about your bank to CBN
Before you reach the CBN you are required to insist and get a
‘’Consumer Complaint Management System (CCMS) tracking number’’ from your just

Format of a complaint letter to CBN
The CBN Consumer Protection Department requires you complain
letter to have the following details
• Complainants Name, Residential Address, Phone Number & E-
mail of the complainant
• Name of the bank you have issues with
• Personal banking details (PIN & Passwords not included)
• Date of the transaction in dispute,
• Amount in dispute
• Evidence to show that you have lodged a complaint (CCMS)
tracking number
Additionally CBN has directed customers to also bring to their
notice any bank that refuse to collect torn money
