Zealand-Nigerian born Israel Adesanya has lost his first UFC match at 259th fixture in Las Vegas on the 6th day of March by Jan Blachowicz
Adesanya was climbing to a record of 20 matches without defeat and was eyeing to hold UFC double titles before it was broken by Jan Blachowicz last night
Adesanya was in control of the first round as he showed great technique and speed, but the New Zealand-Nigerian fell off his benchmark for the night after the result was turned over by his Polish opponent Blachowicz in a 49-46, 49-45, and 49-45 final result
On the other hand Jan Blachowicz the light-heavyweight fighter showed calmness and composure and defended his UFC title after a unanimous decision
In 2011 Israel Adesanya began his career as a kickboxer, wining all his 5 fixtures in a row but later suffered two defeats in a row in 2014.
He also bounced back with 12 wins
In an interview post match interview Israel stated categorically "Losses are something I deal with occasionally,” added As I say, it is what it is. If I was going to lose to anyone, what a better guy to lose to than a guy like Jan?
“(He’s) a classy champion, a cool dude, a very nice guy, a guy who has a great story in himself.
On his way to getting cut from the company, comes back and then dominates and becomes the light heavyweight champion and then hands this guy, a future legend, his first loss.
Yeah, if I was going to lose to anyone, I’m glad I lost to him.”
“I have no regrets, “Like I said, I don’t know. I feel like the boxing model has made it a bad thing to lose. Yeah, it sucks losing. Don’t get me wrong.
But it’s not like the end of the world. Like I said, I’ve lost before in the past
Right now, me and my team, we’re just excited to get home and work on certain little details.”
