Dubai: Massive fire breaks out in Ajman market

Dubai: A massive fire broke out in the market of Ajman area in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday evening. Several fire fighting engines were seen rushing towards the spot while the authorities are yet to ascertain the cause of the fire. No casualty has been reported so far.
According to official reports, the fire broke out at 6:30 pm in the emirate's new industrial area in Ajman, which is some 50 km away from Dubai.
Several fire fighting engines were seen rushing to the incident site and reportedly took three hours to douse the flames. The cooling operations are still underway in the market area.
Khaleej Times reported, "Ajman firefighters have cordoned off the site and used water and foam in extinguishing the blazes which have broken out in many shops therein."
"Four civil defence centres are involved in fighting the big inferno," it added.
The fire incident in Ajman has come less than 24 hours after a huge explosion rattled Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon. The explosion's shock waves smashing deep into the city and killed at least 100 and injured more than 3,000 people.
According to the local government, the massive blast has caused damage amounting to $5 billion and left around 3,00,000 people homeless in the city.
